Tritone Photography features the images of photographer Mike Shea of Grass Valley, California.

Since one of my primary photographic interests is music related, I wanted to name my website with a word that had a meaning in both the visual and musical worlds. The word “tritone” was a perfect fit. In music, a tritone is a musical interval comprised of three whole tones. In the visual arts, a tritone is a process that allows you to allocate different colors to the shadows, midtones, and highlights of a monochrome grayscale image.

            

Tritone Photography combines my two previous websites, www.mshea49.com and www.crosscutsawphoto.com into one.
